The "Harbors Tonight" event was held in Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei, on Saturday night, promoting cultural and people-to-people exchange between China's Yunnan Province and Brunei.
As part of the 2026 Chinese New Year Culture Celebration in Brunei, "Harbors Tonight" not only presented splendid cultural and artistic performances but also showcased distinctive cultural handicrafts, as well as specialty products such as coffee and flower pastries from China's Yunnan.
In the Yunnan coffee tasting area of the event site, a variety of coffee beans grown and produced in Yunnan were displayed. Staff from Yunnan brewed coffee on-site for the guests, attracting many to stop, taste, and listen attentively to introductions about the characteristics of Yunnan coffee.
A local Bruneian guest said that Bruneians enjoy drinking coffee very much, and the widespread presence of coffee shops is a long-standing tradition in Brunei.
"This is the first time I have learned that Yunnan also cultivates and produces coffee beans. It tasted slightly different from what I usually drink in Brunei, but very distinctive and of excellent quality," he said.
The event also featured performances by renowned athletes from the Brunei Wushu Team, students from Chung Hua Middle School in Brunei, and international student representatives from Universiti Brunei Darussalam, making it a significant highlight of cultural exchanges between China and Brunei this year.
Co-hosted by several organizations from Brunei and China's Yunnan Province, the event attracted over a hundred distinguished guests from various sectors of Bruneian society.
